ABOUT THE ARTIST
Diane Epstein was born in New York City, grew up in California, spent her high school years in London and lived in Rome from 1995-2016, after which she relocated back to the San Francisco Bay Area.
During her 20-year sojourn in Italy, Diane pioneered the art of Fresco Photography, a unique photographic interpretation of traditional fresco painting. Original paintings and collage elements are superimposed over multiple exposures of Diane’s own distinctive photographs to create natural and cultural scenes that, while reminiscent of ancient frescoes, carry a more contemporary feel.
Diane’s fresco images can be found in museums and private collections worldwide. She has exhibited in many galleries, and has been commissioned to create large-scale images for public spaces around the world since 2004.
Diane Epstein is at the forefront of biophilic art and design. She has installed large-scale original works using a wide array of materials suitable for healthcare and public environments, in multiple international settings. She collaborates with designers, architects, art consultants and art collectors and curates art that enhances the design of public/interior spaces.
Diane’s process of creating large-scale fresco murals and other biophilic art, includes practical guidance and wisely facilitated conversations that create an intentional space that uplifts innovation, connection and community. She helps clarify creative and business visions, so the art is inclusive and has the end-user in mind.
Diane’s has been a professional fine art photographer and artist with Diane Epstein (Photography) Art since 2003.
She founded the Artist Salon in 2013, an internatinal community of artists, where creative professionals exchange ideas, collaborte and organied mulitdisciplinary exhibitions.
In 2019 Diane founded Artful Agility, where she facilitates virtual and in-person creativity and wellness retreats for change-makers and leaders across industrieds that bring deeper connections, promote healing and foster creative wayfinding.
